Fun for Everyone

Besides the pumpkins, which are pretty essential for running a pumpkin patch, the first thing we decided to install on the site was our swing set. Kirk builds fences for a living and had come across some large metal pipe that we decided would make great material for a robust swing set. Before long, we had a large set of swings standing 15 feet tall overlooking the property.
The kids all seem to enjoy the thrill of the swoop on the swings and several of our adult friends have stopped by to give them a try and feel the sensation of flying out over the grass. From here there is a wonderful view of the patch itself but also the rolling grassland prairie that spreads out east from the Black Hills.

Another element that quickly appeared on our 'playground' area was the slide. We chose to have the slide dip below the ground to add some fun to the adventure. This has been tested by many children, of all ages, including Jackie's retired aunt! It is a fun ride down and gives you a nice workout climbing back up the hill to go down again.
We also installed two tetherball polls. This was a game that Jackie spent many hours at camp playing with fond memories. When we decided it would be fun to focus on more vintage style games this was a must. It made it debut in 2025 and we are happy to say they are still standing tall at the Patch.
There are several other activities for the family to enjoy while spending time at the Patch including; corn hole, croquet, spike ball and a toy farm set.
