Changing Colors at the Patch

It is an exciting time at the Pumpkin patch as the fruit begins to pop out amongst the vines. We are seeing many of our carving pumpkins transforming from green to a gorgeous bright orange.

The other fun thing has been to see the white pumpkins brighten up. The contrast between the green roaming vines and the crisp white fruit is crisp. Even the large Polar Bear pumpkins are making a bold statement when we drive by.
It was a hot summer growing season. The plants would look happy and healthy in the morning but by the middle of the day the scortching heat would have them drooping. The amount of vines stretching across the growing beds and sneaking out into the grass was still very impressive. However, as we are pulling back leaves to see the fruit, we are dissapointed in the lack of fruit.
We are still planning to run business and there are many pumpkins for you to come and pick. We have reached out to another local grower and will have additional bins of pumpkins available for customers to get come wonderful displays and vegetabls.
I planted a variety of winter squash that is also turning into beautiful colors. The spaghetti squash is glowing bright yellow and will be ready just in time for our opening weekend. Other variety that you'll be able to pick for yoruself include; 2 types of acorn squash, butternut squash, buttercup squash and blue habbards.

We are excited for October to arrive so we can share this harvest season with you all. Be sure to follow us online to see updates and bring your friends along. We will see you at the Patch soon!
